Hi Peter,

It is a striking image, certainly.

THe minimal content of ground is spot-on - that's all you need. Colouration is great for the purpose, also.

My only niggle is the extrememly bright patch of sky above the cyclist, which drags my eye away from the bit that matters - the guy on the bike. You could with minimal effort use your clone stamp tool (that's the name of it in Photoshop) and gently paint over the bright bit with sky cloned from elsewhere, using a soft brush and being careful not to replicate cloud features which would give away what you've done.
