Pentax M 20mm F4

One of my more recent purchases is a Pentax M 20mm F4 lens dating from the early 1980s, having decided it to be a more appealing option than the current Pentax 15-30mm full frame zoom lens costing circa £1300.

Diminutive, weighing just 150g, excellent build quality, pin sharp at F11, super multi-coating giving high resistance to flare and small enough to slip in a jacket pocket. What’s not to like about this ultra-wideangle prime lens? I know I wouldn’t be without it for my landscape work.

The images below of the Worcestershire Beacon summit were taken in February 2019.

[And there are no apologies at all for the rough granite that features heavily in the foreground!]
