Travel tripod

I currently have a Manfrotto 190proxb tripod that is now many years old. I am also looking at a Vanguard Range 38 shoulder bag that fits Vanguard Range ‘h’ series tripods - are these Vanguard carbon fibre ‘pods any good?

Well, they seem to get good reviews. There seem to be quite a few Chinese made carbon fibre travel tripods in the £200-£250 price range. I have the Leofoto Urban LX-CT225 and have been very pleased with it.

I have a Sirui that is very similar to Peter’s. I think both are Chinese clones of a Gitzo, at a fraction of the price. It works well and, for its size and weight, it seems pretty stable,

Perhaps it doesn't qualify as "serious" landscape work and not easy to show the IQ here, but this was a 77 second exposure with 2kg of camera gear mounted on my Leofoto urban tripod, taken last winter with a very strong northerly wind whistling down the Buttermere valley. We later had to make a hasty retreat over Honister pass due to white out conditions.
