My daughter has resurrected an Olympus OM1n and has asked where she should get the C41 colour film developed and printed. Any recommendations gratefully received. Thank you.
I don't have any current experience of processing but Boots and others such as https://www.filmprocessing.co.uk/ still offer a service (eg £8.00 for a 24-shot with negs).
Sorry, just seen this. I use "The Darkroom" (15 Berkeley Mews, High Street, Cheltenham, GL50 1DY). They are not cheap but they will scan as TIF (or JPG) at up to 6000x4000px. For cheapness, try SnappySnaps (or Boots as previously suggested). It depends on the quality that you want.
I would recommend taking the film to LCE Worcester. They will send the film off to Ag Photolab in Birmingham who I have found to be just as good as The Darkroom UK. The advantage is that it works out cheaper than going to Ag Photolab direct (as you don't have the return postage to pay).I took a film in to LCE about six months ago and it cost me £9.99 for processing and 6x4 prints for a 36 exposure film. Turnaround time is about a week. Very pleased with the results. I wouldn't say Boots are particularly cheap these days.
Thank you for the advice. My daughter used a service where she lives in North London and was v pleased with the result but realised the costly downside! Cheers Bill.
Yes Bill, it is a long way removed from the days when you could take the film to Jessops and pay about a fiver for D&P and then get given a "free" film worth ~£2 when you picked up your negs and prints.
