Group description
The Monochrome Group welcomes all photographers who have an interest in black and white photography, regardless of their ability. Monthly meetings occur in a relaxed atmosphere allowing members to participate and contribute in a way that they feel is appropriate. The group encourages all types of monochrome photography by sharing, evaluating and critically appraising images. The emphasis is very much on showing and enjoying photoographs so as to promote a deeper understanding of the principles of the monochrome genre.
Meetings are conducted in an informal, supportive and non-competitive environment. External events and specialist techniques, together with the work of outside speakers is also used to energize the programme.
The goals of the group are to stimulate members' interests into producing monochrome images and encourage each individual to find their own photographic voice.
