Meeting frequency:
Ad hoc, arranged as convenient between those involved.'

Venue: Variable, again as agreed by those involved

Group description

This scheme replaces our beginners and improvers group because it was felt that the range of need in attendees led to a less-efficient addressing of relevant subject matter. This mentoring scheme is designed to be tailored to specific needs.

The idea here is that a member (the mentee) will request the organiser to link him or her to another club member (the mentor) who has a wide knowledge of a certain aspect of photography, whereupon those so linked will define the need and enjoy one-to-one (or potentially one-to-a-few) instruction and help.

Interaction can be as short as one meeting, or spread over several, according to the agreement of the two.

Meetings between the mentor and mentee will be arranged by both to be at a time and venue convenient to both parties. If you would like more information on this scheme, or would like to be involved either as a mentor or mentee, please contact the leader of the group via mentoring@beaconcameraclub.co.uk, or seek out him/her at a Thursday night meeting.

Be assured that everyone is very welcome, regardless of how little you might know (or think you know!) about photography and whether you use a DSLR or a smartphone. Our mantra is that there's no such thing as a daft question!
